blue alien critter

Tried another morning painting using that gum arabic technique Viv taught me yesterday. Not sure I’m using the right inks, and it’s not quite doing what I want it to, but it’s getting some nice texture in. Anwyay, it’s fun messing about with stuff in bottles.

Hey, my studio mate Gary Northfield is looking for a room to rent, somewhere near Deptford/Brockley/New Cross or surrounding areas. Can anyone help him out?

I wish I’d done more lithography at art college. We didn’t get any teaching on it (they assumed we should have learned it on Foundation, and I didn’t do my BA at art college) and I stuck pretty much to stuff I’d be able to do after I left college. But I really wish I’d spend more time on it.

  3. i’m glad i took it, although i struggled with it a lot. there’s so much process and so many chances to screw up that it frustrated me. i’m sure with time i would have learned to be more precise with everything and made wonderful prints, but i felt the same way as you: i’d rather spend more time perfecting techniques i’d be able to do without an entire print lab.
