shark & unicorn: the golden fleece

Here's Kail at our local corner shop, holding up a copy of The Sunday Times with my Shark & Unicorn comic strip in it! The other customer in the shop harrumphed, THAT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A UNICORN. THAT LOOKS LIKE A FAT PIG. I explained to him that this look was intentional but the man would have none of it. UNICORNS. ALWAYS PRETTY. What does he know, right? I take a stand for disenfranchised unicorns across the world. Let's have a moment of social media silence for all of them. I didn't even realise it was in today's paper until Philip Womack tweeted about The Funday Times section. (Thanks, Philip!) Here's the pencil rough that I sent to my editor, Karen Robinson. I had to draw this on holiday, early one morning on my sister's kitchen table in Seattle before we could all go out and play. I don't think the rough was even the right dimensions; I was crossing my fingers that it would fit all right into the final version.
