aleksandra, and some fine proverbs

I started today with a walk and coffee with my friend Aleksandra and made a sketch of her: I'm just working like a crazy person on a picture book due at the end of the month, so I'm a bit at a loss of what to post, other than whinging about my the bristles coming out of my brushes and other such thrilling subject matter. So I will post a link to comics artist Willow Dawson, whose work I want to go back and explore when I have a moment. And here are some words of wisdom I discovered deep within my soul, after staying up too late on Twitter. (See #badproverbs for at least a thousand more by other people who have achieved a similar state of bliss.) * Don't bite off more than you can fit in your car. * Life is like a camel wedged between a rock and a hard place. * Sincerity begins with a smile for everyone and with hearty encouragement for those who are toiling. * Blood is thicker than lemonade. * Dead men tell no lies, but deader men just lie there. * Trust not an Englishman to the wisdom of proverbs, trust him only to fall on the just and the unjust alike. * Change your lightbulb lest it change you first. * People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw their clothes off without checking to see if the neighbours are looking. * Charity begins at home but valour only starts in the garage. * Ponder the absence of noodles to make chicken soup for the soul. * The sparrow of morning calls to the crow of bedtime and the hound of darkness howls to the poodle of dawn.
