lumpy little gremlin

Last night, very late, I sewed a doll for my friend’s baby shower gift from a pair of soft old jeans. I kind of rushed it, so the little guy looks a bit lumpy and misshapen, and not entirely stylish. But at least he looks homemade, which I guess is the point.

I’ve been doing lots of rabbit pictures while drawing Lettuce for the DFC, and I just heard from Brian Sibley that he has his own rabbit blog. I particularly like the photos of his rabbit stuck down the crack in the floor of the Tate Modern.

If you’re between 7 – 12 years old and live in Ireland or the UK, or know someone who fits that bill: The Times is running a Wind in the Willows illustration competition to design a cover for the classic book, which will be published by Vintage Classics for a centenary edition in November. Here are the details and Mini Grey gives tips on cover design here. (Don’t miss the July 25th deadline.)

Speaking of homemade stuff, here are some good robot costumes by Flight of the Conchords.

(You can hear the whole song here. I like the Binary Solo.)
Ooo, and I just saw that my beret is ready!
