friends of the nib

Hi, I’ve been away for awhile; still in Seattle and my mum’s doing much better. She had to go in for a second operation and was in hospital for three weeks, but she’s back home now and we’re trying to keep her quiet. She’s normally a very sociable person, and the doctors had her on some drugs that made her even more hyperactive than usual. So we practically had to sit on her to keep her from planning the first of many dinner parties the day she got home. We’ve been on some nice walks, particularly to the Kubota Garden in south Seattle. I’d never seen it before, but it’s a gorgeous bit of Japan, tucked away near Boeing Field. I also visited the Fantagraphics Shop for the first time, and went to a Friends of the Nib gathering at the Cafe Racer in the University District.
