(It's me, wearing the \u003Ca href=\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mole_%28Zden%C4%9Bk_Miler_character%29\">Czech mole\u003C/a> shirt that \u003Ca href=\"http://www.vivianeschwarz.co.uk/\">Viviane Schwarz\u003C/a> bought me while she was in Germany.) Doesn't look exactly like me but it's such a fab portrait! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/alex_milway_sarah-348cdd0746.jpg\">\\r\n\u003Ci>by Alex Milway\u003C/i>\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cb>TWO MONTHLY COMICS EVENTS\u003C/b>: \\r\nIf you're interested in meeting more people who make comics or are just interested in them, do pop along the last Thursday of each month to the bar at the Royal Festival Hall in London from 6-9pm for \u003Ca href=\"http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103005639736274&ref=ts\">Comica Social Club\u003C/a>. Even if you don't know anyone, you can always spot a designated person wearing a green fez (usually \u003Cb>Peter Stanbury, Paul Gravett\u003C/b> or \u003Cb>David O'Connell\u003C/b>). It's very casual, you can stay for five minutes or all night.\\r\n\\r\nThe other great monthly London comics event is \u003Ca href=\"http://laydeezdocomics.blogspot.com\">Laydeez Do Comics\u003C/a>, that takes place on the first Monday of each month at the Rag Factory, just off Brick Lane. It's organised by \u003Cb>Nicola Streeten\u003C/b> and \u003Cb>Sarah Lightman\u003C/b> and the presentations usually feature female comics artists, although they've had male speakers and men are very welcome. And they're always interested in people in the industry offering to speak, so get in touch if you'd like to talk about your work.
