You might remember \u003Ca href=\"http://jabberworks.livejournal.com/431048.html\">an earlier post\u003C/a> I made about visiting her studio.) Here's a drawing I made of her and the yummy \u003Ca href=\"http://www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/l/lady_grey_tea_loaf_with_vine_fruits.html\">tea bread\u003C/a> she baked.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/tea_with_jo_moore-c5a5ae78ab.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nJo loves dressing up as much as I do, and we had a great time going through her wig box. Don't we look luverly? Jo has two dressing up jobs: she's one of the main forces behind Usborne's \u003Ca href=\"http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=usborne+activity+books+sticker+jo+moore&rh=n%3A266239%2Ck%3Ausborne+activity+books+sticker+jo+moore&ajr=0\">Sticker Dolly Dressing\u003C/a> books, but she also works part-time for fashion illustrator \u003Ca href=\"http://www.daviddownton.com/portraits.html\">David Downton\u003C/a>. He gets these incredibly posh frocks to the studio and very often she's the one who will model them so he can draw them.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/jo_sarah_wigs-642c309966.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nWe were going to a party that evening and decided we would go be-wigged. Two guys run it, Robert and Mike. (This is how Jo's hair usually looks.)\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/brighton_jo_moore-2fa111eb26.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l27/jabberworks/Uploads%202012/brighton_graffiti.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nI met Jo at a gathering of the \u003Ca href=\"http://brightonillustrators.co.uk/\">Brighton Illustrators Group\u003C/a>. Jo used to be my friend \u003Ca href=\"http://www.philipreeve.blogspot.co.uk/\">Philip Reeve\u003C/a>'s flatmate and she put me up for the night after I did a talk. It was fun going back down to see her again. Here's the building that used to be the bookshop, Read All About It, where she and Philip worked, before she became a full-time illustrator and Philip became a full-time illustrator, then a writer. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/brighton_formerbookshop-f115098c99.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThe weather wasn't great - \u003Ci>bracing\u003C/i> is the word - but this merry-go-round looked very bright and cheerful.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/brighton_merrygoround-7914354354.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nIt's proper old school, you can see an old organ in there, and the little figures ring their bells in time to the music.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/brighton_merrygoround2-880581ffb1.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nI like the all-day scratch card bus pass Jo gave me; makes me feel like I've just won the lottery.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/brighton_daypasses-9acfe9f934.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nAmazing \u003Ca href=\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brighton_Pavilion\">Brighton Pavilion\u003C/a>. I always forget the history, and Jo did a great job telling me about the flamboyant Prince Regent who so magnificently misbehaved there.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/brighton_pavilion-7c46195604.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nI could have spent years just reading the books in Jo's house.
