The kids came up with some awesome hamster superhero costumes and superpowers!\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/eletrik_hamster_zpse026d455-3ff014ad63.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nAs visiting superhero, I got to open the brand-new fiction library, where they had framed photos on the wall of previous visiting authors, including \u003Ca href=\"http://www.helena-pielichaty.com/\">Helena Pielechaty\u003C/a> and \u003Ca href=\"http://www.guybass.com/\">Guy Bass\u003C/a>. The library had formerly been a locker room, with a non-fiction library space nearby, but some teachers worked out a way to pile the lockers into a smaller room and create a lovely space for the school's fiction books.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/sarahmcintyre_portway_jr_library_lores_zpsa339cc7c-2ea7f352d7.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003C!--more Click here for lots more awesomesauce under the cut!-->\\r\nCheck out some of the hamsters we drew in assembly! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/portway_superhamsters4_zps407dd92b-84f9a48b9d.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThe Portway teachers did some great follow-up. After I'd done my second assembly, the kids who'd been in the first assembly had already done more work colouring their Superhamster pictures and some had even drawn full comic strips in that time! So this comic's by four authors. Too funny, I love the random Shetland pony.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/portway_comicsjam1_zpsc9765aeb-9ddbae71f5.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nA lot of the kids had read \u003Ci>Vern and Lettuce\u003C/i>, so there were several comics featuring sheep and rabbits. This one cracked me up: \u003Ci>Glue springs to your bums and pretend to hop. Hop! Hop! Hop! Oh no, it's Big Bunny Boo! ABANDON BUM!\u003C/i>) \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/portway_comics3_zps165d3a19-38d42dd247.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nI got the giggles seeing this poor sheep sicking up in the toilet.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/portway_comics1_zps893cd87e-bc60cf8526.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/portway_comics2_zps8c037931-9587b4cb12.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nHere's a poem some boys wrote earlier for me, inspired by \u003Ci>Morris the Mankiest Monster\u003C/i>.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/portway_morris_poem_zpse24f684d-044c74f620.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThe boys also made a book, inspired by Morris!
