They did nice work! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1104662_original-6c085b29ed.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1104994_original-4e3ca444f6.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nI'm presenting books here with headteacher Jonathan Bishop, and here's the very cool thing: \u003Cb>every child got to take home their own \u003Ci>Grumpycorn\u003C/i> book!\u003C/b> Cathie Holden and The Bookery team had worked hard to get sponsorship: \u003Ca href=\"https://www.redrow.co.uk/\">Redrow\u003C/a> sponsored books for every child at Broadclyst, \u003Ca href=\"https://www.cavannahomes.co.uk/\">Cavanna Homes\u003C/a> got books to every child at Monkerton, and The Bookery was able to use sponsorship money to fund books for Yeo Valley. \u003Cb>So huge thanks to the sponsors!\u003C/b> \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1104013_original-9c5d8b824b.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\u003Cfont size=\"1\">\u003Ci>Photo from Luke Hayes-Middleton at Broadclyst Primary\u003C/i>\u003C/font>\\r\n\\r\nHere's the Broadclyst library team - thanks to everyone at the school who made the visit run so smoothly! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1105355_original-0775aa6e18.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nIn the afternoon, I did a smaller assembly for \u003Ca href=\"https://www.chulmleigh.devon.sch.uk/\">Chulmleigh Academy Trust\u003C/a> (CAT) at \u003Ca href=\"https://www.chulmleigh.devon.sch.uk/page/?title=Chulmleigh+Primary+School&amp;pid=360\">Chulmleigh Primary School\u003C/a>, and we were joined by \u003Ca href=\"https://www.chulmleigh.devon.sch.uk/page/?title=East+Worlington+Primary+School&amp;pid=391\">East Worlingto\u003C/a>n and \u003Ca href=\"https://www.chulmleigh.devon.sch.uk/page/?title=Lapford+Community+Primary+School&amp;pid=327\">Lapford\u003C/a> primary schools on Zoom. And wonderfully, there was a book for every child at CAT who attended the event, sponsored by a Crediton benefactor. Cathie & Tim from The Bookery created this display at \u003Ca href=\"https://www.haywards.org/\">Haywards Primary School\u003C/a>: \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1106004_original-16872d28f9.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nThe children were very enthusiastic about Kevin - many had read earlier books - and we had a lot of fun drawing with them. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1107334_original-aa39cfccae.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nAgain, each child got their own book! Many of them ordered the new Kevin book, but every child received a copy of the first book, \u003Ci>\u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.co.uk/the-legend-of-kevin/\">The Legend of Kevin\u003C/a>\u003C/i>, sponsored by our publisher, \u003Ca href=\"https://global.oup.com/education/product/9780192766175/?region=uk\">Oxford University Press\u003C/a>. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1106407_original-44adefe6a7.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nHere are some of their excellent drawings of Kevin, customised to make their own fabulous mythical racer: \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1106940_original-f5efd71fff.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1106969_original-cda85f7236.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nAfter the first assembly, The Bookery team took us to \u003Ca href=\"https://www.facebook.com/baobabcafecrediton/\">Baobab Cafe\u003C/a> in Crediton, where its chef gave us a most excellent lunch.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1106447_original-d0b5f13b3c.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nIn the afternoon, Philip and I did another assembly at \u003Ca href=\"https://www.landscoreprimary.co.uk/\">Landscore Primary School\u003C/a>, although I didn't manage to get any photos. Again, everyone got a Legend of Kevin book, plus the books they'd ordered, and there was great excitement and much book signing. \\r\n\\r\nOn Day 3, a Saturday, we were back at the bookshop.
