Philip teaches drawing lessons to some friends' kids in exchange for sending over his son for computer and woodworking classes. So I got to join the drawing lesson and sit around the kitchen table with them, where we all draw a pair of old boots. (Old shoes make great subjects for drawing.) Here you can see all our drawings together:\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/boots_drawings_zps41d2528b-5205d04d46.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nI started out doing a pencil drawing (the top right paper) and I scrubbed about just trying to get a sense of how the shoes worked. But the pencil drawing looked a bit insipid, so I held it up to the window and traced a second version, finishing it in pen. I didn't get time to complete it, but I think it still looks reasonably good:\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/sarah_boots_zpsc04a9efd-24e68e1f3c.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003C!--more Click for more under the cut!-->\\r\nAnd here's Dad's drawing! I can't even think of the last time I saw my dad draw, and his picture's pretty impressive:\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/dad_boots_zpsa3687381-39c64af1df.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThe shoe drawing was quite hard-core concentration stuff, so for the end of the lesson, Philip had us look at Gary Northfield's new comic book, \u003Ca href=\"http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l27/jabberworks/uploads%202013/girls_teenytinysaurs_zps47a052a7.jpg\">\u003Ci>TEENYTINYSAURS\u003C/i>\u003C/a> and have fun drawing little dinosaurs out of it.
