Lots of little critters everywhere! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/elissa_elwick_Jam_the_Bobwob_zps4639c6f8-12a327b153.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThe Fleece Station is ever growing and changing, and while \u003Ca href=\"http://whodunnknit.com/\">Lauren O'Farrell\u003C/a> is still very much part of the studio and our activities, her work has expanded so much that she needs more room. So Elisa, a writer-illustrator, has moved in with \u003Ca href=\"http://www.garynorthfield.com\">Gary Northfield\u003C/a> and me on the third desk and has already set up her space with bunting and loads of little toys!  \\r\n\\r\nI interview Fleece Officer Elwick here: \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cb>So people will be curious, what exactly do you do, Elissa?\u003C/b>\\r\nI draw pictures and sometimes write words for children. It’s mighty fun. I also make monsters, occasionally.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/elissa_zps09edb203-c5eb808da6.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003C!--more Click here for more under the cut!-->\\r\n\u003Cb>Where did you study?\u003C/b>\\r\nI studied at The Arts University Bournemouth, in, er, Bournemouth.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/elissa_elwick_jelly_in_the_alps_zpsb571b03f-8fe66568c2.jpg\">\\r\n\u003Cfont size=\"1\">\u003Ci>A photo taken in what I imagine must be Bournemouth\u003C/i>\u003C/font>\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cb>Did you find it very helpful?\u003C/b>\\r\nYes, it was a really broad course so we got to experiment a lot and use lots of different mediums, including film and photography. That’s why I first started making weird little fabric monsters that have moved into the studio with me, two of which, The Bobwobs, helped me get my first picture book deal. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/2bookcover_zps264179c6-463996a05a.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThey used to come everywhere with me, but now they’re in retirement on account of a missing arm. (Not mine.)\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/elissa_elwick_bookspread2_zpsb8840100-3a15416e13.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cb>What’s your favourite work you’ve done?\u003C/b>\\r\nI’m quite pleased with the muruel I painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Other than that, probably the work I’m doing at the moment. I’m still getting to know the characters for a picture book I’m working on, which is one of my favourite parts of a project.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/elissa_elwick_illo_camping_zps4420ee8d-3c8dd6e01c.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cb>What kind of work would you like to be doing right now?\u003C/b>\\r\nI’d like to illustrate a chapter book and write a sad novel. I’d like to make people cry. I’d also like to make a stop motion animation with Tim Burton, but that seems ever so slightly far fetched.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/elissa_elwick_bluemonster_zpsef3067a7-92f1dd7fe6.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cb>Now a very important question: what’s your favourite studio snack?\u003C/b>\\r\nHuman flesh, but Gary and Sarah banned such behavior.\\r\nDoes tea count?
