On the way, we stopped to look at all the red lanterns strung across Gerrard Street in \u003Ca href=\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinatown,_London\">Chinatown\u003C/a>.\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday1-1-50bffa4060.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nOn request of the Little Person, we popped into one of the sweet shops and gawped at the lovely packaging, and then took photos of two cute kids outside in matching dresses in front of the smelly durian fruits.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday2-11db23ea1c.jpg\"> \u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday3-57f1204529.jpg\">\\r\n\u003C!--more More photos of our day out here-->\\r\nIce cream! The combo of one 'Choc Tot' ice cream sundae, an shared adult 'Dusty Road' sundae, tea for two and a Coke worked out to over thirty quid, so we won't be going back, but it was a lovely one-off treat:\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday6-c7c0b28aff.jpg\"> \u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday7-aa3772dc74.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nWe ran a few laps around the \u003Ca href=\"http://www.npg.org.uk/visit.php\">National Portrait Gallery\u003C/a>, the stated intention of LP being 'to get totally lost', then got told off big-time for running the wrong way down this marvellously long escalator, undoubtedly built just for that purpose.\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday4-be299479b6.jpg\"> \u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/bday8-423dd6506f.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nWe also visited Britain's largest bookshop, where LP was allowed to buy one book. Not easy, there must be nearly a million book there! I was curious to see what she'd choose, and after some hard thinking, she eventually made a very resolute decision to get \u003Ci>Happy Birthday, Blue Kangaroo\u003C/i> by Emma Chichester Clark, with an enclosed audio CD of the book read by Joanna Lumley.
