[{"data":1,"prerenderedAt":11},["ShallowReactive",2],{"blog-post-deadlyknitshade-were-so-proud-of-you":3},{"_type":4,"body":5,"bodyHtml":6,"excerpt":5,"featuredImage":5,"publishedAt":7,"slug":8,"tags":9,"title":10},"blogPost",null,"This year's been an incredible one at \u003Ca href=\"http://fleecestation.co.uk/\">The Fleece Station\u003C/a> studio, and times have never been as exciting as now, when \u003Cb>our fab studio mate, Ms Deadlyknitshade, has \u003Cfont size=\"3\">her first book coming out!\u003C/font>\u003C/b> \\r\nIf you're new to my blog, \u003Cb>Lauren O'Farrell\u003C/b> is the world's most incredible pirate knitter; she and her huge band of yarnstormers create amazing knitted graffiti installations all around the city. The latest was for Valentine's Day, when, by stealth, they decorated the Eros statue on Piccadilly Circus (\u003Ca href=\"http://knitthecity.com/2011/02/14/hubbub-of-hearts/\">see the photos here!\u003C/a>) Now you may think it's easy hanging a string of knitted hearts from the figure's bow, but Lauren managed to find the longest telescopic pole imaginable to do it (which we had great fun playing with at the studio when it arrived in the post), and a huge crowd gathered and cheered wildly when the yarnstormers managed to loop the yarn over the statue. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Ca href=\"http://knitthecity.com/2011/02/14/hubbub-of-hearts/\">\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/deadlypiccadilly-dafe9885e3.jpg\">\u003C/a>\\r\n\\r\nHere's the giant squid she knit out of recycled Sainsbury's carrier bags for London's Natural History Museum. Its name is Plarchie - a combo of Plarn (plastic yarn) and Archie (the museum's original squid specimen) - and it's draped languorously over Darwin's lap. TA DAH!!! Isn't it lovely? It's in German, by the way! Sounds a bit gothic. He wrote: \\r\n\\r\n\u003Ci>Just thought I would let you know that Luke sent our daughter Hannah 2 of your books for Christmas (\u003C/i>Morris the Mankiest Monster\u003Ci>, and \u003C/i>You Can’t Eat a Princess\u003Ci>) She really enjoys both of them and we do too.  She is in Starship Children’s Hospital at the moment and they have a play specialist that comes round with toys and books for the kids. She asked whether Hannah needed any books and told us that they had just got a new book in and whether she might like that one- it was \u003C/i>You Can’t Eat a Princess\u003Ci>. We felt very smart to not only tell her that Hannah already has that book but also that we know the illustrator. Just thought I’d let you know that it looks like your book will be entertaining many different children throughout a hospital on the other side of the world (if that’s not too bizarre a concept!).\u003C/i>\\r\n\\r\nAnd our former studio mate upstairs, animator \u003Ca href=\"http://www.pachinkopictures.com/\">Ian Gouldstone\u003C/a>, wrote to say he's spotted \u003Ci>Vern and Lettuce\u003C/i> in a shop in \u003Cb>Melbourne, Australia\u003C/b>. So exciting! That sheep and rabbit must be loving their big road trip down under.\\r\n\\r\nOne more thing, remember I did a drawing for that game of \u003Cb>Consequences\u003C/b> that \u003Cb>Polly Dunbar\u003C/b> is running for Booktrust?
