Here was the first, \u003Cb>Fearfest\u003C/b>, at \u003Ca href=\"http://www.foyles.co.uk/bookstore-charing-cross\">Foyles bookshop\u003C/a> on London's Charing Cross Road. I'm posing with a comics reader named \u003Cb>Belle\u003C/b>, in front of the piranha tank. (Yes, real piranhas! And one of them was getting rather chomped on by the rest.) Belle had a cool broomstick and, very gratifyingly, knew my comic \u003Ci>Vern and Lettuce\u003C/i>, back to front. I love it when that happens, she caught all these tiny details I knew most people would miss. (Maybe she'll contribute a page to Vern and Lettuce's online magazine, \u003Ca href=\"http://www.picklerye.com/\">\u003Ci>The Pickle\u003C/i>\u003C/a>.)\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/foyles_fearfest11_1-6403c2448c.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nA quick poster of Captain Waffle that I drew for the shop, a be-wigged Children's Marketing and Events Co-ordinator \u003Cb>Neil Jackson\u003C/b> with a be-hatted \u003Cb>Sam\u003C/b>, who both were good fun, and one of the kid's pirates. The chocolate sweets were the best, but Neil also introduced me to mallow sticks. Thanks, Neil, Sam and the Foyles gang!\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/foyles_fearfest11_2-5ca2fc8979.jpg\">\\r\n\\r\nThen it was on to the house of my fellow Fleece Officer \u003Cb>Ellen Lindner\u003C/b> and her husband \u003Ca href=\"http://www.comixinflux.com\">Stephen Betts\u003C/a>, where all my studio mateys from the \u003Ca href=\"http://fleecestation.co.uk/\">Fleece Station\u003C/a> were costumed up! \u003Cb>Gary Northfield\u003C/b> and \u003Cb>Lauren O'Farrell\u003C/b> had evidentally had a massive row and stuck things through each other's heads.
