Huge thanks to our publicists at \u003Ca href=\"https://www.davidficklingbooks.com/CatalogueItems.php?pubID=355\">David Fickling Books\u003C/a>, \u003Ca href=\"https://twitter.com/frashutc\">Fraser Hutchinson\u003C/a> and \u003Ca href=\"https://twitter.com/LizScottPR\">Liz Scott\u003C/a> for arranging everything for us! Other than our \u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.livejournal.com/906588.html\">big launch event at Daunt Books Marylebone\u003C/a>, I think my favourite stop was \u003Ca href=\"https://www.waterstones.com/bookshops/piccadilly\">Waterstones Piccadlly \u003C/a>(Europe's largest bookshop, with over 8 miles of bookshelves!), where Lucy the bookseller let us draw a big mouse ship on one of the columns in the children's section. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1229874_original-c062902460.jpg\" width=\"550\">\\r\n\\r\nCheck it out, it's right under a fab drawing by \u003Ca href=\"http://lizpichon.com/\">Liz Pichon\u003C/a>! I started out small with drawing Pedro, but then I realised we had the right pens and that I could really go for it, so I added the big ship. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1230298_original-db4efa7220.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003C!--more Click here for lots more under the cut!-->\\r\nThanks to \u003Cb>Lucy \u003C/b>for hosting our book signing, and \u003Cb>Danie Ware\u003C/b>, who stopped by from the Graphic Novel/Manga section to say hello! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1230439_original-96b4099cb3.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nIf you stop by, there's a big pile of signed books (including a big stack of my new Faber Book of Bedtime Stories, and Philip's Utterly Dark books).\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1230759_original-ca9889f798.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nTogether with Fraser (who'd come to London via bus because of the rail strike - that's commitment!), we stopped by \u003Ca href=\"https://www.foyles.co.uk/shops/london-charing-cross-road\">Foyles on Charing Cross Road\u003C/a>, a shop I've been visiting since I started talking night classes in Children's Book Illustration at Central Saint Martins (which used to be next door), over 20 years ago! It was great chatting with booksellers \u003Cb>Sally\u003C/b> and \u003Cb>Fin\u003C/b>, and we brought Philip's otter and the little felt mouse we were given by Bronnie & Bob of Bookwagon UK. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1231004_original-d343208944.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nNext stop with Fraser: \u003Ca href=\"https://forbiddenplanet.com/stores/london-megastore/\">Forbidden Planet\u003C/a>, where we signed lots of books in the back room with \u003Cb>Marc\u003C/b>, \u003Cb>Mars\u003C/b> and \u003Cb>Ana\u003C/b>. Philip had a good chat with a Mortal-Engines superfan, and I got to see a drawing Alan Lee had left behind during his signing. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1231237_original-590808663f.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nWe popped into \u003Ca href=\"https://www.waterstones.com/bookshops/covent-garden\">Waterstones Covent Garden\u003C/a>, where we'd had several excellent previous book launches - at least three of \u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.livejournal.com/809033.html\">my picture books\u003C/a> including \u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.livejournal.com/835377.html\">Grumpycorn\u003C/a> and \u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.livejournal.com/811605.html\">the first Kevin book (where we painted the window!)\u003C/a>. Thanks for hosting our signing, \u003Cb>Ellie\u003C/b>! \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1231867_original-dc713cf796.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nAnd we couldn't miss \u003Ca href=\"https://goshlondon.com/\">Gosh Comics\u003C/a>, who have been supportive of my work since my early comic days!
