Some of them were reading Philip’s books and they all wanted autographs, so we felt like Big Stars (but only in carriage C of that particular train).\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1223388_original-eb22c3f1e6.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\n\u003C!--more Click here for more photos under the cut!-->\\r\nIn Farnham we were guests of the \u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.livejournal.com/896484.html\">Blue Bear Bookshop which we also visited last year\u003C/a>. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1223548_original-04d34ee5da.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nAfter coffee and cake, \u003Cb>Khira Stanley\u003C/b> took us to \u003Ca href=\"https://www.potters-gate.surrey.sch.uk/\">Potters Gate Primary School\u003C/a>, where we did our first ever Adventuremice event. I showed the children how to draw Pedro, and then they helped us come up with some inhabitants for the Nameless Isles, the unexplored bits at the top of the Mouse Islands map where No Mouse Has Been Before. Apparently they’re home to cat-tailed crabs, fast sloths, and a taco-pooing monster … who knew?\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1223920_original-f645248753.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\n(I won't show you the fast sloth, I drew it quite badly.)\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1224003_original-9d9999eb63.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nIn the evening Philip talked about his Utterly Dark books to a full-house crowd at the bookshop.\\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1224569_original-4bcbe5abaa.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nIt was lovely to see \u003Ca href=\"https://twitter.com/Makeadaze\">jewellery-maker Laura Robb\u003C/a> (whom I formerly know as Sister Spooky the book blogger) and author-actor \u003Ca href=\"http://theandyrobbsite.co.uk/\">Andy Robb\u003C/a>, and to catch up with Horrible Histories author and cartoonist \u003Ca href=\"https://twitter.com/martinhhbrown?lang=en\">Martin Brown\u003C/a>. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1224356_original-9047377367.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nNext morning, festival volunteer Paul met me at the Blue Bear Bookshop and took me round the corner to \u003Ca href=\"https://www.standrews-infant.surrey.sch.uk/\">St Andrew's CofE Primary School\u003C/a> for a \u003Ca href=\"https://jabberworks.co.uk/grumpycorn\">Grumpycorn\u003C/a> event, where I led them all in designing their own unicorn-themed book covers. \\r\n\\r\n\u003Cimg src=\"https://images.jabberworks.co.uk/lj/1224849_original-b9a49071d5.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\">\\r\n\\r\nBig thanks to Blue Bear Bookshop owner \u003Cb>Sylvia Schüller\u003C/b>, Khira Standley for looking after us.
