superheroes are taking over the police station!
Our studio in the old police station overlooks the courtyard of the new police station, and look who just walked out the door! (We are not spying or anything, really…)
(More bizarre superhero appearances over at the Fleece Station.)
Sorry, haven’t posted a drawing in a few days, must get back to that! What’s going on here is that I’m getting ready to launch Morris the Mankiest Monster with a month of events, starting to gear up for a Scholastic book launch in the spring, working like mad on the third picture book deadline for Oxford University Press, doing character development for a fourth book with Scholastic, starting up a fifth book with David Fickling, and trying to make Stuart not feel left out (most important thing, really). It’s all keeping me hopping.
Just had lunch at the studio cafe with Gary, the upstairs animators and James Turner (eruditebaboon), who is contemplating breaking into children’s picture books and would be so amazingly well suited to it… Spent all of lunch laughing like a lunatic and spilling bits of cabbage and ginger cake crumbs down my front. Come here to the Old Police Station on Saturday at 5pm for the Deptford Museum auction; it’ll be great fun and have loads of quirky bargains. Lots going on around here this weekend for the Deptford X arts festival, this building’s really buzzing right now with everyone getting ready for it.
