punting on the cam

Today the weather was fabulous and we went punting in Cambridge with our American friends Kim and Jay.
Pushing off on the pole took a real knack, which Kim and I didn’t spend much time perfecting since it was much more pleasant to drift along while the men met the task with gusto.

After a day in Cambridge, we took the train up to Ely and went to evensong at the cathedral, then had beer by the river. I think every flower in Cambridgeshire was blooming. Not a bad day, really.
