Yes, I’m back in Portland now. I had to go to a wedding down in SW England, but I was able to see a few sites in London for four or five days. I know someone that works at the Cartoon Museum, so I made sure to check it out.

Huh, when I went there it was just a glorified gift shop with a bunch of animation cels you could buy. Museums by definition are curated and the exhibitions are themed, I thought… maybe I missed something?

Oh, maybe that was early days! It has several rooms of galleries now on two floors and a workshop space as well.

Last time I was there they had an amazing Heath Robinson exhibition going, with maybe 40 of his pictures and a fancy old-fashioned looking machine someone had designed from one of his drawings. There was an exhibition of political cartoons in one of the other rooms and an exhibition of contemporary comics work upstairs.
