busy bee season

Here’s a card I made last night for two friends from book club, Alice and Dan, who named their baby after the author of one of the books we read, Bee Season by Myla Goldberg. (Very good book, by the way! There’s a bit more on my blog about the adult Myla here with fan art, and here with lots of cake, and here.) I was very pleased with how the card came out, particularly as I’d left my nice craft knife back at the studio and did it with only clunky scissors and pritt stick.

Oh my goodness, did you read this report of Thought Bubble comics festival by young Molly Bruton? It totally made my day! Favourite lines:
Thanking everyone who kindly signed MY copy of Nelson (Dad even says I can read it all if I don’t repeat the swears to mom)
See – I doesn’t say Richard inside does it? NO it doesn’t Dad, Woodrow Phoenix signed it to ME! Yep, MINE! MINE! MINE!’ Ha ha!
